The football spotlight will shine on Haiti as the French nation will host Group 4 of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Women’s Caribbean Cup tournament starting on Friday, May 30, 2014.
Due to unforeseen situations resulting in the withdrawal of Guadeloupe from the competition; the new schedule indicates there will be three teams competing in this Group as opposed to the original four teams.
The three teams in this group looking for a place in the finals set for August 19-26 in Trinidad & Tobago are: Haiti, Cuba and Suriname. In the opening game to be played at the Park Bayas Mirebalais, Cuba meet Suriname at 6:00pm; while on Sunday June 1 at 6:00 pm Haiti encounters Suriname.
The final game of this group will be played on Tuesday June 3 with hosts’ Haiti going up against Cuba at 6:00pm The winner of Group 4 will join Antigua & Barbuda, Martinique and Bermuda at the finals.
