French Guiana and Aruba off to a good start in 2014 CFU Men’s Caribbean Cup

French Guiana outplayed British Virgin Islands (BVI) 6-0 in the 2014 Caribbean Football Union Men’s Caribbean Cup at the Complejo Deportivo Guillermo Prospero Trinidad Stadium in Aruba in the opening game of Group 2.

Scoring for French Guiana were Anthony Sourberve in the 17th minute, Gabriel Pigree in the 50th, Sergillo Atooman 53rd, Fabrice Awong 55th, Michael Solvi 81st and Orpheo Nalie 90th.

In the second game played at the same venue Aruba clipped the Turks & Caicos Islands 1-0 courtesy of a goal by Emile Linkers in the 28th minute.

In the only game played in Group 1, Montserrat edged out U S Virgin Islands (USVI) 1-0 with a strike from Jaylee Allen Hodgson in the 54th minute at the Montserrat Football Complex.

In the meantime games continue on Sunday, June 1 when the USVI takes on Bonaire at 7:00pm in Group 1.

In Group 2 Turks & Caicos Islands will face French Guiana at 6:00pm and Aruba will meet BVI at 8:00pm.
