The heat is on in Groups 1 and 2 in CFU Men’s Cup

Host Montserrat faces Bonaire today, Tuesday, June 3, in the pronouncement match at the Montserrat Football Complex, as they battle for three points to advance from Group 1 to the next round of the 2014 Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Men’s Cup.
Both teams are dead-locked at three points apiece and know that only a win will cement their efforts.
Over in Group 2, leaders French Guiana and host Aruba will face-off at the Complejo Deportivo Guillermo Prospero Trinidad Stadium at 8:00pm.

Both teams will enter the game level on points but French Guiana has a better goal average. This was by virtue of scoring 12 goals in two games as opposed to Aruba’s eight in two games.

he task is left on the shoulders of players such as Gabriel Pigree and Fabrice Awong who both have scored one hat-trick and a double respectively in the competition for French Guiana.

Aruba on the other hand will be propelled by the motivation of the Aruban supporters. Dwayne Raven will surely be a marked man by the French Guiana defense as he also has a hat-trick thus far in the tournament.

The British Virgin Islands meets the Turks and Caicos Islands in the early game at 5:00 p.m. in a game strictly for bragging rights.
