Caribbean Football Union donates to hurricane devastated islands

The Caribbean Football Union sent hurricane relief supplies to Anguilla, Barbuda (sister island to Antigua), Dominica, St. Maarten and St. Martin in the wake of the Category 5 storms, Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria, which devastated the islands. Aid assistance is being coordinated for the BVI, the USVI and Puerto Rico.

CFU General Secretary Neil Cochrane donated items to President of the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association Everton Gonsalves, who in turn donated the items to the Barbuda Council, the sister island’s legislative arm. The donation included canned-and-dried goods, drinking water, cleaning products, feminine items and toiletries.

ABFA President Everton Gonsalves helps to offload drinking water ahead of a presentation of relief items to the Barbuda Council, which is temporarily located on mainland Antigua.
