CFU Women’s Challenge Series 2018 Wins for Cuba, Haiti, St. Kitts & Nevis and St. Lucia

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua – Cuba and Haiti enjoyed identical winning results, 7-0, when the Caribbean Football Union Women’s Challenge Series 2018 opened Wednesday across three hosting venues with four matches.

Cuba 7-0 Barbados

Playing in Group B at the UWI-JFF Captain Horace Burrell Center of Excellence in Jamaica, the Cubans stunned Barbados to take a 5-0 lead into the break. They then converted twice more in the second half.

Haiti 7-0 USVI

Playing at home at Stade Sylvia Cator, the Haitians had a final goal tally of seven, after a 5-0 lead at half time against the USVI.

St. Lucia 1-0 St. Vincent and the Grenadines St. Kitts and Nevis 1-0 Dominica

Over in St. Kitts, at the Warner Park Sporting Complex, St. Lucia beat St. Vincent 1-0 thanks to Ellaisa Marquis, who scored in the 49th minute. In Match 2 at the same venue, the home team, St. Kitts and Nevis, notched up three points with a 1-0 win over Dominica. Britney Lawrence scored the winner in minute 69.
