Central FC was crowned the 2015 champions of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Club Championship after defeating DirectTV WConnection 2-1 in the final played at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Trinidad & Tobago on Sunday, May 24 while Montego Bay United was placed third by clipping Don Bosco FC 1-0 at this same venue.
Jean-Luc Rochford opened the scores for Central in the 27th minute ending the first half 1-0. Jamal Jack found the back of the net in the 49th minute to make the score 2-1. DirectTV WConnection dug deep and made some desperate attempts to find a goal. Neil Benjamin found that consolation goal in the 90+1 minute ending the game 2-1. Owayne Gordon scored the all-important goal for Montego Bay United in the 70th minute.
Central FC, DirectTV WConnection and Montego Bay United will be the three teams representing the Caribbean region in the 2015 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League scheduled to begin soon.
