Debutants Central FC out of Trinidad and Tobago and representing the Caribbean, ended their 2015-2016 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League (SCCL) campaign with four points after defeating Comunicaciones 1-0 and a 1-1 draw with seasoned contenders LA Galaxy.
The game against LA Galaxy was the last of the team’s two games played at home at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Trinidad & Tobago.
Scoring against Comunicaciones was Ataulla Guerra while the goal against LA Galaxy was an Own Goal scored in the 2nd minute by Willis Plaza.
Meanwhile, DirectTV WConnection the other Caribbean team from Trinidad and Tobago ended their run with three points by defeating Costa Rica’s Saprissa FC 2-1 at home. They lost the second home game 1-0 to Santos Laguna.
Kurt Frederick and Alvin Jones made their team proud by putting away the two goals scored against Saprissa.
Montego Bay United the third Caribbean team from Jamaica made their debut as well in the SCCL and after losing all of the games played away drew 1-1 with DC United from the United States and has a home game in hand which is to be played on October 22, at the Montego Bay Sports Complex, in St James, Jamaica.
Montego Bay United went ahead in the 27th minute with a goal from Jermaine Woozencroft, this was followed by a double from Dino Williams in the 30th and 50th minute.
DC United changed the game plan and in the 59th minute the score was 3-1 with a goal from Jairo Arrietta. Roji Opare made it 3-2 in the 78th minute. Montego Bay United had to share the points in the 90+3 minutes when Michael Farfan closed the gap ending the game 3-3.
