Arsenal FC may have a new gunner from the Caribbean.

The London based English Premier League (EPL) Club currently in the title hunt of the EPL is taking a look at Seventeen-year-old St Lucian, Caniggia ‘Ginola’ Elva. Arsenal already has the services of Theo Walcott, who is of Barbadian heritage.

Elva currently plays for the Canadian side, Calgary Southwest United. The club has confirmed, via its official twitter account, that the talented seventeen year old was headed to a trial with one of the biggest names in English club football.

The tweet read, “OH MY-SWU Striker Caniggia Elva off to London, England, Monday for trial with Arsenal FC!!! Thanks to all who helped him get there!!!”

Prime Minister of St. Lucia, Kenny Anthony has expressed excitement at the news and the opportunities this new challenge presents for young Elva.

“I am excited about the possibilities. I am proud of his accomplishments thus far. His skill and hard work is taking him places no other St Lucian has gone and has gained him recognition worldwide.

“I applaud and congratulate his support system, particularly his father, Titus Elva, and his uncle Oliver Elva, who is his guardian.

“On behalf of the proud people of Vieux-Fort and indeed the entire St Lucian population, I wish him the very best. We will monitor his progress,” Dr. Anthony said in a statement.

The Prime Minister said, “Caniggia comes from a very accomplished football background and called his father Titus ‘TiTi’ Elva one of the nation’s best footballers. Titi, who is Caniggia’s father, represented St Lucia for many years and also played club football in Trinidad & Tobago.

Caniggia Elva was born in Vieux-Fort and moved to Canada at the age of 12
