Jamaica advance to Final Round of 2014 CFU Men’s U 17 Qualifiers

Jamaica advances to the Final Round of the 2014 Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Men’s Under 17 Qualifiers after taking maximum points in Group 1games played at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex in Kingston Jamaica.

The hosts separated themselves from Guadeloupe by defeating their opponents 3-0 after both teams went into the game locked at six points each.

At the start of the game the swift moving Guadeloupe team had the Jamaicans trying desperately to penetrate their half.

It was in the 23rd minute that the winners scored with a strike from Nicholas Henry. In the 33rd minute it was Nelson again completing his double and placing his team in a 2-0 advantage at the end of the first half.

The young Reggae Boyz returned for the second half with confidence and kept the Guadeloupe team at bay. In the 55th minute Donavan Dawkins sealed the issue with his goal ending the game 3-0.

Meanwhile, in the bottom of the table clash the Cayman Islands gave the US Virgin Islands team its third beating which was a 2-0 score line.

Scoring for the Cayman Islands were Ryan Jackson in the 45th and Leighton Thomas in the 55th.
