Curacao Continues Run and Grenada Grabs First Win

Philipsburg, Sint Maarten - Day 2 Afternoon matches in the CFU's Inaugural Under 15 Championship saw Grenada defeat Bonaire 1 - 0, Curacao put 7 pass St. Vincent,  While host St. Maarten fall to Antigua & Barbuda.

 

Grenada grabbed their first win in the CFU Under 15 Championship by defeating Bonaire 1- 0.  The afternoon kick off saw Grenada's Sherman Williams  open his countries account in the 12th minute. No goals were scored in the second half as the match ended 1 - 0 in favour of  Grenada.

Cayman Islands made it two wins from successive matches as US Virgin Islands fell to a 4 - 0 score line Kion Parchmont opened scoring in the 4th minute of play followed by Cody Ebanks who made it 2 -0 from the penalty spot in the 8th minute.

The Second would see Cayman score their 3rd as  Kareem Foster scored in the 47th minute and D'andre Rowe ended the scoring by making it 4 - 0 in the 64th minute

Scorers: Kion Parchmont 4th (Cay), Cody Ebanks 8th (Cay), Kareem Foster 47th, D'andre Rowe 64th (Cay)

 

Curacao would continue their fine form in the tournament after defeating St. Vincent, who received their first lost in group play as they went down 7 - 0.

In the first half Curacao scored in the 12th minute of play as Nahtan Bernadina  scored his first of the match. Bernadina would add his second in the 25th, while Shurendric Fransinet made it 3 - 0 in the 33rd minute. In the second half Bernadina would score his hat trick in the 45th minute while Angerick Dorothea made it 4 - 0 in the 47th minute.

Shurendric Fransinet would again make his way onto the score sheet in the 66th and 68th minute to complete his hat trick.

 

Curacao 7 - 0 St. Vincent and the Grenadines

Scorers: Nahtan Bernadina  12th, 25th, 45th, (Cur), Shurendric Fransinet 33rd, 66th,68th, Angerick Dorothea 47th (Cur).

 

Co host Anguilla fell to St. Lucia today in the Group 1 feature encounter. After defeating the USVI in their opening match Anguilla fell 4 - 0 St. Lucia. Riquelme Sylvester opened scoring in the 12th minute followed by Gabriel Biscette in the 22nd.

Linus Clovis would add to his teams tally when he netted in the 37th minute and Riquelme Sylvester scored his second and the final goal o f the match in the 40th.

 

Anguilla 0 - 4 St. Lucia

Scorers: Riquelme Sylvester 12th, 40th (LCA), Gabriel Biscette 22nd (LCA), Linus Clovis 37th (LCA)

 

Host nation St. Maarten fell 8 -0 to Antigua and Barbuda who bounced back from an opening day defeat. Sharlon Knight scored in the 14th, 22nd and 41st minutes for his hat trick. D' Jarie Sheppard then scored another treble in the 30th, 32nd and 36th minute respectively.

Scoring was rounded off by a double from Javorn Benjamin in the 20th and 44th minutes as the match ended 8 - 0.

 

St. Maarten 0 - 8 Antigua & Barbuda
