CFU Under 20 Day 2 Recap

St. John's, Antigua - Day 2 of the CFU Under 20 qualifying saw St. Lucia and Trinidad and Tobago advance, Dominican Republic defeat Dominica, St. Kitts and Nevis surprising Jamaica while Cuba and Antigua and Barbuda both record wins in Group 1.

 

St. Lucia 1  - 0 Guadeloupe

Ryi Maryat 47' (LCA)

 

St. Lucia claimed their second win in group 2 advancing to the final round after defeating Guadeloupe 1 - 0. The winning goal of the match would come right at the restart of the second half as St, Lucia skipper Ryi Maryat made it  1 - 0 in the 47th minute giving his team the three points.

 

Trinidad and Tobago 11 - 0 Turks and Caicos

Nicholas Dillon 11', 29',49', 62', 65', Isaiah Hudson 15', 58', Kierron Mason 46', Noah Powder 51', Micah Lansiquot 72', Morgan Bruce - De Rouche 83'.

 

Trinidad and Tobago would dominate the Turks and Caicos islands by scoring 11 goals. Nicholas Dillion lead the charge with strikes in the 11th, 29th 49th, 62nd and 65th. Isaiah Hudson grabbed goals in the 15th and 58th respectively. Trinidad and Tobago completed their scoring with goals from Kierron Mason 46th minute, Noah Powder 51st minute Micah Lansiquot 72nd minute and Morgan Bruce - De Rouche in the 83rd. 

 

Dominican Republic 3 - 0 Dominica

Manny Rodriguez 62', Victor Polanco 86', Erick Paniagua 90'.

 

Group 4 host the Dominican Republic defeated Dominica 3 - 0. grabbing goals in the second half for the host were Manny Rodriguez in the 62nd minute,  Victor Polanco in the 86th and Erick Paniagua 90th minute.

 

Jamaica 0 - 2 St. Kitts and Nevis

Tahir Hanley 60', 83' (SKN)

A double strike from Tahir Hanley was enough for St. Kitts and Nevis to upset group favourites Jamaica. Hanley's Strikes came in the second half in the 60th minute and in the 83rd minute of play. The goals would see St. Kitts and Nevis get their first victory of the group.

 

Cuba 2 - 1 Puerto Rico

Díaz 1',Godínez 69 (CUB), Cardona 18' (PUR)

 

Cuba would rebound after their first day defeat after a hard fought 2 - 1 victory versus Puerto Rico. Cuba who would go down to 10 men in the first half rallied agaisnt a well organized Puerto Rico team. Cuba would take the lead in the 1st minute through Luis Diaz. Puerto Rico would pull a goal back from the penalty spot as Nicolas Cardona made 1 - 1 in the 18th minute. Cuba's winner would come in the sceond half through Yoan Godinez.

 

Antigua and Barbuda 6 - 0 Sint Maarten

Jermain Browne 27' Vashami Allen 30', Denie Henry 40', 51', Luther Wildin 79', Matthew Hall 90+2'

 

Antigua and Barbuda went top of group 1 after defeating host Sint Maarten 6 - 0. Goal scorers for the winning team were Jermaine Browne 27th minute, Vashami Allen 30th minute, Denie Henry 40th and 51st minute, Luther Wuldin 79th minute and Mathew Hall completed the scoring in the 92nd minute.
