Fearless Curacao set sights on Women’s U-20 Finals

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (CFU) – Curacao’s Women’s U-20 team, having qualified from a tough group which comprised eventual group winners Puerto Rico, Antigua and Barbuda and Anguilla, are fearless on the cusp of the CFU Women’s U-20 Finals which kick off here tomorrow.

Curacao will face competition from St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Caribbean powerhouses Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. But the women from the ABC Islands, who finished runners-up to Puerto Rico in the group stage, are looking forward to mounting a challenge in Haiti that will ensure their progression.

Curacao’s Coach Rovian Carolina said his team is ready.

"We came prepared to do our best, and if our best is winning or taking points, the girls will give it 100 percent,” Carolina said.

"We know they are strong teams but we think we have a chance to do well in this tournament," the coach added.

Curacao will begin their campaign on October 15 versus Trinidad and Tobago at 6:30 pm.

The top three teams emerging from the competition will join other teams from the CONCACAF region to compete in the 2015 CONCACAF Women’s U-20 Championship slated for Honduras in December.
