ARIMA, Trinidad (July 27, 2025)—All Saints United of Antigua and Barbuda kicked off their 2025 CFU Club Shield campaign with a 3-1 victory over the SCSA Eagles of St. Marteen on Sunday, at the Larry Gomes Stadium.

The Group C encounter started as a seesaw battle, but soon sprang into life when a Timon Van Dujin 8th-minute free kick came close to sending St. Maarten ahead. Van Dujin’s effort went narrowly wide and put the All Saints United team on early notice.

The opening goal came in the  10th minute when Kendukar Challenger’s attempted cross was turned into his net by St. Maarten captain, Loxley Parker, for an own goal.

All Saints United continued to probe through D’Andre Bishop, Tiquan Isaac, and Raheem Deterville, and it was Isaac who opened the team’s account with a 17th-minute goal. Isaac was on hand to tap in Leroy Graham’s cross from close range to double his team’s advantage.

Van Dujin again came close in the 23rd minute with his free kick hitting the crossbar before being scrambled away by the defense for a corner kick.

Chandro Wilken was forced into a smart save at the near post in the 29th minute to deny Bishop, and Blake Thompson headed wide from close range on the ensuing corner kick.

The SCSA Eagles, now in mid-block, looked to play on the counterattack through Wibens Elysee and Khalid Tavernier, but a well-organized All Saints defence dealt with the threats. Jayden Martin, having a quiet game in goal for All Saints United, was called into action in 43’ to punch a deflected cross with VanDujin lurking.

Deterville stretched the team’s lead in first-half stoppage time, slotting past advancing Wilken after running on to a well-weighted pass around the back of the defence by Zafique Drew.

On resumption, All Saints United looked to press home their advantage with substitute Shalon Knight trying to get in on the action, forcing the Wilken into a diving save in the 47th minute of play. The men from St.Marteen continued to plug away and created a few half-chances as the half progressed, clearly signalling their intent.

Bishop again shot straight at Wilken in the 61’ and Vaughn Jackson headed over the cross bar in the 63’ after a delightful cross from Graham from the left side.

Almost immediately, Eagles played off with Romario Chilin pulling a goal back for his team in minute 63. Chilin beat Blake for pace before lifting the ball past advancing Martin. Eagles were growing in confidence now and should have narrowed the gap, but Wilson shot wide of the goal on a cross from Elysee, after he skillfully eluded his marker in the 67th minute. Three minutes later, Elysee was again in the thick of things but shot straight into the arms of Martin from the top of the penalty area.

Forced now to play dogged defence, All Saints United almost turned the tables on Eagles with a four-on-three counterattack, but Jackson failed to capitalize after Deterville found him just inside the penalty area in the 79th minute.

SCSA Eagles kept up the pressure, looking to narrow the gap, but to no avail.

The men from Antigua kept their nerve to see out the match comfortably and end the game with a well-deserved 3-1.
