BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (June 5, 2026)—The Caribbean Football Union (CFU) on Friday conducted the official draw for the 2026 CFU Club Shield, setting the path for 22 clubs from across the region to compete for Caribbean honors and two coveted places in the Concacaf Caribbean Cup. 

Trinidad and Tobago will host the eighth edition of the competition, which runs from July 23 to August 2. The CFU Shield also serves as the qualifier for this year’s Concacaf Caribbean Cup, with the champions and runners-up advancing to the Confederation’s 10-club competition and moving closer to the Concacaf Champions Cup. 

COMPETITION FORMAT

The 2026 CFU Club Shield will be contested in a straight knockout format. 

The First Round runs from July 23 to July 24, followed by the Round of 16 matchups on July 25 and July 26. 

The Quarterfinals are July 28, ahead of the Semifinals on July 31. 

The competition climaxes on August 2, with the final.

DRAW PROCEDURE

Based on the competition regulations and club rankings, the 12 lowest-ranked clubs were entered into First Round pots and were drawn against one another.

Based on the competition regulations and club ranking criteria, the five clubs representing the Caribbean's professional leagues, along with the three highest-ranked amateur clubs, received byes to the Round of 16. The two remaining participating clubs, All Saints United (ATG) and Weymouth Wales FC (BRB), joined the six First Round winners in Pot 3 to determine
the Round of 16 ties.

Established in 2018, the CFU Club Shield has a primary objective of advancing
professional football throughout the Caribbean. Participation is open to semi-
professional and amateur teams holding current championship titles in their respective
domestic leagues. The ultimate finalists advance to the Concacaf Caribbean Cup.

Established in 1978, the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) is the representative organization for 31 football associations across the English-, Dutch-, French-, and Spanish-speaking Caribbean.
