COUVA, Trinidad (July 27, 2025)—Club Franciscain from Martinique asserted their dominance with a 6-1 victory over Anguilla's Docs United in a Group D match-up of the 2025 CFU Club Shield. The teams were playing on Sunday at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Trinidad.

Club Franciscain reacted swiftly at the sound of the whistle, wasting no time on attack. They displayed excellent ball control and utilized open pockets. Docs United found themselves pressed against their keeper as their opponents repeatedly charged through the defense.

Three minutes into the match, an unmarked Philippe Clervil rocketed the ball into the back of the net, securing the opener for Club Franciscain.

One minute later, Mathis Priam made it 2-0 for the Martinique squad.

Docs United struggled to possess the ball and create any offensive plays. Lone forward Sylvanus James struggled at the top due to the likes of defenders Mathis Jeanville and Sebastien Lepel.

Club Franciscain capitalized on the Anguillans’ defensive errors, allowing Club to score their third goal. It was a training ground set piece that Captain Christof Jougon beautifully struck.

Docs United seemed to have revisited the drawing board, as they began to display more ball possession in the second half.

In the 54th minute, striker Sylvanus James converted his team's first goal. However, the celebration abruptly ended when Franciscain retaliated in the 56th minute with a goal from Johnny Marajo.

Docs United further struggled, and poor defensive tactics allowed Axel Delor to secure Club Franciscain’s fifth goal in the 84th minute.

A poor tackle from goalkeeper Randy Jemuel Gomez warranted a penalty for the Martinique outfit in extra time, and Priam confidently put away his second goal of the match.

Club Franciscain will face Scholars International FC on Tuesday, while Docs United will play on the same day.
