COUVA, Trinidad (July 23, 2026)—St. Lucia's La Clery FC, competing in the CFU Club Shield for the second consecutive year, secured a commanding 2–1 victory over Anguilla's Roaring Lions FC in the third and final knockout-round match of the day at the 2026 CFU Club Shield. The teams met at Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva, Trinidad, on Thursday.

La Clery took control from the opening whistle, dictating possession and creating early chances. Their first real opportunity came in the 5th minute, when Anguilla's goalkeeper, Jobari Codrington, was forced into an excellent save to keep the score level.

Roaring Lions responded four minutes later with their first meaningful attack. In the 9th minute, Kayne Connor unleashed a powerful strike from just inside the penalty area, but La Clery goalkeeper Devone St. Prix reacted brilliantly, tipping the effort over the crossbar.

The breakthrough arrived in the 16th minute when La Clery was awarded a penalty after Dante Frizz was brought down inside the box. Uhann Degazon calmly converted from the spot, sending Codrington the wrong way to give the St. Lucian side a deserved 1–0 lead.

Degazon doubled the advantage in the 25th minute. Baggio Edward's shot took a deflection into Degazon's path, and the forward made no mistake, tapping home from close range to put La Clery firmly in control.

La Clery continued to press for a third before halftime. Malik St. Prix met a cross with a well-struck volley inside the area, but Codrington once again came to Roaring Lions' rescue with another outstanding save.

The first half concluded with La Clery holding a comfortable 2–0 advantage.

The second half resumed much like the first, with La Clery maintaining their dominance in possession and creating the better scoring opportunities. Despite trailing for most of the contest, Roaring Lions FC continued to battle and found reward in the 90th minute. Mekhi Connor delivered a well-placed pass to an unmarked Christon Williams, who struck the ball beyond goalkeeper Devone St. Prix to pull one back for the Anguillan side.

The late goal, however, proved to be only a consolation as La Clery held on to secure a 2–1 victory at the final whistle.

The win sends La Clery into the next round of the competition, where they will meet former champion SV Robinhood on July 25th.
