COUVA, Trinidad and Tobago (July 31, 2026) — Goals from Trayvone Reid, Jahshaun Anglin, and Demario Phillips propelled Mount Pleasant FA to a commanding 3–1 victory over Suriname's SV Robinhood in their semifinal encounter on Friday at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva, Trinidad and Tobago. The Jamaicans booked their place in Sunday's 2026 CFU Club Shield final with an impressive all-round display.

The match began cautiously, with both teams showing patience in possession and carefully building their attacks. Mount Pleasant created the first opportunity in the 12th minute when Rafa Intervil fired wide of the target. As the half progressed, the Jamaican side gradually took control, enjoying more possession and threatening primarily through Interval on the right flank and Johnson Juedy on the left.

Their pressure was rewarded in the 32nd minute when Daniel Green was brought down inside the penalty area. Reid confidently converted the resulting penalty, placing his effort low to the left of goalkeeper Jonathan Fonkel to give Mount Pleasant a 1–0 lead.

SV Robinhood responded by increasing the tempo and earned a series of corner kicks as they searched for an equalizer. They came closest in the 40th minute when Ravello Zijler escaped his marker, but Shaquan Davis brilliantly saved his near-post flick. Clifford Thomas should have doubled the lead in the 53rd minute after a poor clearance from Fonkel, but he failed to hit the target.

The second goal arrived four minutes later. Anglin timed his run perfectly before meeting Reid's cross with a clinical first-time finish in the 57th minute to extend Mount Pleasant's advantage to 2–0.

The Jamaicans continued to dominate proceedings, with Fonkel again called into action as he produced a full-length save to push away Daley's curling free kick.

Seeking a way back into the contest, Robinhood Head Coach Roberto Gödeken introduced three substitutions in the 63rd minute. The changes injected fresh energy into the Surinamese side, and Davis was forced into an excellent point-blank save in the 73rd minute to deny Jamilhio Ridters.

Any hopes of a comeback were effectively ended in the 82nd minute. Phillips spotted Fonkel off his line and squeezed his effort inside the near post to make it 3–0 and put the result beyond doubt.

Robinhood pulled one back in the 90th minute when Naiem Helstone finished from close range at the back post after a cross from Jenairo Ligeon. However, the consolation goal came too late to alter the outcome.

Mount Pleasant comfortably saw out the remaining minutes before referee Vimarest Diaz brought the match to a close, confirming a 3–1 victory that sends the Jamaican champions into the 2026 CFU Club Shield Final.
