PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad (July 28, 2025)—SV Britannia of Aruba secured a 2-0 win over St. Paul's United Strikers FC of St. Kitts and Nevis. The Group B match on Monday at Hasely Crawford Stadium landed the Arubans in second place and St Paul’s at the bottom of the table, marking the second match for both teams and their last for the 2025 CFU Club Shield.

Moca FC of the Dominican Republic topped the standings with a 1-0 win over Guyana Defence Force FC, third from last, and moved on to the semifinals on August 1.

The Arubans led a first-half domination over St. Paul's, vigorously attacking from all angles around the 18-yard box. However, with the excellent performance of goalkeeper Uzal Hodge, the prospect of goals was bleak.

St. Paul's managed to balance their movement on the field with few offensive attempts. This ensured a level scoreline at the end of the first half.

As the second half kicked off, SV Britannia wasted no time in securing the first goal of the match. Richard De Sousa, with a shot outside the 18-yard box, caught goalkeeper Hodge off target down the right of the goal. Special mention to Sebastian Montoya, who, although not scoring, gave the Paradise defense some work in the back.

Despite being a goal down, St. Paul's maintained momentum as they continued their search for an equalizer.

That soon came to an end when Britannica substitute, Reangelo Boekhoudt, in the 78th minute, secured his team’s second after a significant defensive error.

The match ended 2-0 in favor of the Arubans, who were placed second in the points standings with four points, while St Paul’s finished at the bottom of the table with 0.

With Round One of Group B action complete, both teams head home, while Moca FA of the Dominican Republic, with six points, advances to the semifinals from the group.
