SV Real Rincon 1–1 La Clery Football League
COUVA, Trinidad (July 26, 2025)—SV Real Rincon of Bonaire and La Clery Football League of St. Lucia played to a 1–1 draw in a competitive and well-balanced clash at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Trinidad, marking the fourth match of the first round of the 2025 CFU Club Shield.
The first half ended scoreless, but it was far from lacking in action. La Clery started aggressively, with their first real chance coming in just the 2nd minute as Mervin St. Romain narrowly missed with a close-range header.
SV Real Rincon's goalkeeper, Rishison Frans, proved to be a standout performer, denying several key attempts; most notably a well-struck 19th-minute free kick from Yanic Noel that forced him into a diving save to concede a corner.
Rincon had their best opportunity of the half in the 44th minute when captain Ayrton Cicillia made space for himself inside the box, only to send his right-footed shot just wide. Despite numerous chances for both sides, the teams went into the break locked at 0–0.
The second half opened with the same intensity, but the momentum began to shift in favor of Real Rincon. In the 49th minute, La Clery’s Ronham Cooper squandered a golden chance, firing over the bar from inside the box after a precise through ball. Four minutes later, Frans, once again, came to Rincon’s rescue with a solid save from a powerful left-footed free kick by Uhann Degazon.
In the 57th minute, Jonathan Libania tested La Clery’s goalkeeper Devone St. Prix with a long-range effort. St. Prix fumbled the initial shot but recovered in time to deny a rebound attempt. Cicillia had another opportunity moments later, but his soft shot was easily gathered by St. Prix.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 66th minute when St. Romain headed home unmarked from a corner, giving La Clery a deserved lead. St. Romain nearly doubled the advantage in the 78th minute but sent his attempt over the crossbar.
Just one minute later, Real Rincon found the equalizer. Captain Ayrton Cicillia made up for his earlier misses, finishing a well-worked move to level the score at 1–1. The final opportunity of the match came in the 90th minute for La Clery when a free kick just outside the box was blocked, keeping the scoreline level. Both teams will share the points.
