Draw complete for Concacaf Women’s Olympic Qualifiers 2020

Three Caribbean teams are among the eight finalists to qualify for the 2020 Concacaf Women’s Olympic Qualifiers. Haiti, Jamaica and first-time finalist St. Kitts and Nevis qualified for the tournament, which is scheduled to take place from January 28– February 9, 2020 in Houston and Edinburg, Texas as well as Los Angeles, California.

The qualification matches are expected to be full of excitement and to be fiercely contested. Fans will witness the 2019 FIFA World Cup Champions United States and World Cup participants Canada and Jamaica in action. Added to this line up are the traditionally strong footballing nations of Costa Rica, Mexico and Panama, all vying for two places in the Women’s Olympic Football tournament Tokyo 2020 in Japan.

On November 7, 2019, Concacaf conducted the official draw for the tournament, was executed by Concacaf Head of Women’s Football Karina Leblanc, with the assistance of two-time Olympic Gold medalist Lindsay Tarpley and Olympic Bronze medal winner Kaylyn Kyle. Concacaf General Secretary Philippe Moggio also gave remarks.

The draw divided eight teams into two groups of four for the first round of the competition:

Costa Rica Mexico
Panama Jamaica
Haiti St. Kitts and Nevis

Group A matches will be held at the BBVA Stadium, Houston, Texas on January 28, 31 and February 3, 2020. While Group B matches are scheduled for the HEB Park in Edinburg, Texas January 29, February 1 and 4, 2020.
