The Caribbean Football Union (CFU), established to govern and promote football across the Caribbean, operates under its revised 2019 Statutes—an extensive charter that defines the Union's values, structures, rights, and obligations.

These statutes reflect CFU’s commitment to transparency, integrity, inclusion, and the development of football at all levels—from grassroots to elite international competition.

Legal Identity & Structure

The CFU is a not-for-profit organization, headquartered in Kingston, Jamaica, with its legal entity, Caribbean Football Union Limited (CFUL), registered under Jamaican law. It functions as a regional body recognized by CONCACAF and operates in English, Spanish, French, and Dutch—its four official languages.

CFU Objectives

Outlined in Article 3, CFU’s mission is to:

• Advance football development in the Caribbean, especially for youth and women.

• Organize competitions and foster cooperation among Member Associations.

• Promote inclusion, gender equality, racial harmony, and human rights.

• Combat corruption, racism, and match-fixing.

• Represent the region’s interests within FIFA and CONCACAF.

• Use football for social good, community building, and youth empowerment.

Membership & Governance

Under Article 7, membership is divided into:

• Full Members, who have voting rights and eligibility to hold office.

• Associate Members, who participate but do not vote or hold governance positions.

Each Member Association must uphold CFU’s statutes, remain politically independent, and maintain democratic leadership structures.

The CFU Congress is the Union’s highest decision-making body, while the Executive Committee oversees strategic operations. These bodies are supported by Judicial Committees (Ethics, Disciplinary, Appeals), Standing Committees, and the General Secretariat.

Judicial Integrity

The statutes establish clear rules for handling disputes and disciplinary matters, empowering independent judicial bodies and recognizing the jurisdiction of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). These measures ensure fairness, accountability, and ethical conduct throughout CFU’s operations.
