CASTRIES, St. Lucia (March 3, 2026) — Female match officials from across the region will assemble in Guyana from March 6–8 for the Caribbean Women’s Match Officials’ Course, an initiative aimed at strengthening the pipeline of elite referees in the region.

Launched in 2025, the program aims to support match officials currently on the FIFA list and those on the cusp of international selection. It forms part of the Caribbean Football Union’s strategic commitment to referee development and excellence.

The course is supported by FIFA and hosted by the Guyana Football Federation (GFF).

Over three days, participants will engage in advanced physical and theoretical instruction, including intensive fitness sessions and classroom work covering the Laws of the Game, positioning and movement, match management, and officiating psychology. The program is designed to enhance overall performance, ensuring that officials are physically prepared, technically sound, and mentally equipped for future regional and international assignments.

The instructional team comprises Kelesha Antoine and Rohan Thobourne, who will lead the fitness components, and Dianne Ferreira-James and Natasha Lewis, who will deliver the technical modules.

The course coincides with International Women’s Day on March 8 and carries the theme “Give to Gain,” underscoring the importance of mentorship, shared learning, and collective advancement in women’s officiating across the Caribbean.
