Winning Friday for Bonaire, Guyana and Jamaica in CNL

It was a red-letter day for Bonaire in their Group B of League C match-up of the Concacaf Nations League against the British Virgin Islands when both sides met in Curacao on Friday, September 6, 2019. Bonaire’s 4-2 win marked their highest tally ever.
The BVI got on the scoreboard first when Tyler Forbes scored in the 31st minute. Edshel Martha equalized in the 74th minute, and Bonaire’s bonanza began. Yurick Seinpaal scored in the 78th minute – becoming his team’s all-time top scorer with four goals. Jursten Trinidad added a third in the 80th, before Martha converted again in the 83rd. BVI’s Forbes converted once more in stoppage time.
Also in Curacao, in a Group C of League B encounter, Guyana defeated Aruba 1-0. Sheldon Holder scored in the 22nd minute and, with Aruba unable to respond, Guyana went on to claim the three points.
The Jamaica Reggae Boyz’s 6-0 win over Antigua and Barbuda in the other Group C of League B match landed them at the top of the table. Playing before a home crowd in Montego Bay, the Jamaicans opened the scoring in the ninth minute with a Shamar Nicholson conversion. Bobby Reid 31st, Nicholson again in the 51st, Brian Brown 67th, Leon Bailey 77th and Peter Vassel 81st accounted for Jamaica’s tally. The visitors’ best chance came early in the match, but custodian Andre Blake denied Carl Osbourne.
Over in Fort-de-France, Martinique and Trinidad drew 1-1 in their Group C of League A derby. Cyril Mandouki send the home team ahead in the 40th minute. Trinidad and Tobago equalized in the 65th when Joevin Jones converted from the penalty spot.
